Nari had been scouted. She was just here doing her work as a journeyman and now she was scouted to be an actual candidate? She hadn't expected that at all, honestly she just wanted to work and continue to get better. It wasn't just her either, but her brother had been as well. She frowned as she scooped up the cold lake water into her bucket. Now, on top of her regular work she had the chores that candidates had, and was shoved into the barracks rather than her indiviudal room.

She had to be closer to people and that made every part of her cringe. Like it wasn't bad enough that her brother was around, someone who knew the her behind the lies, now she had to be closer to people that weren't just crafters. She growled to herself as she scooped up the water into another bucket.

Grumbles under her breath were uttered as she turned around to stalk on towards the water. She stared and blinked a few times as the cold lake water splashed up and all over him. That had got to be cold, if the splash back from it was anything to guess at.

She stood there and stared at him and blinked a few times. "Maybe you should watch where you're going, now I need to refill this other bucket." She said, breaking away from her guilt and straight into defense mode. Defense more was much safer. It wasn't her fault he was all wet now, it was his, and she was going to stick to that story.

I don't know why you don't make more friends, he told his dragon as he walked along the lake shore. He could see the rustle and ripples of those weird little bugs and K'ton counted his blessings that he'd never been around during a hatching. He didn't like firelizards and he knew for sure he wouldn't like the bugs. Who'd like bugs that were so large? And squirmy? Gross. I don't need to make friends, Ironth told him from where he lounged on his couch, I am perfectly content being only your friend.

K'ton snorted at that and raised his brows at the nice backside currently bent over shoveling water into buckets. Hmm. Interesting. She's a candidate and you'll get in trouble, Ironth told him dryly. Pffft I'm not going to take advantage... Just play a bit. He grinned at the huff his dragon sent his way and walked towards the girl bent over. He'd come to stand behind her when she turned suddenly and he gave an involuntary gasp as the cold water hit him in the face.

He dragged a hand down his face and flicked the water away with his fingers, "It's fine. I needed a bath anyway." He could feel Ironth's heavy amusement in his mind and he growled at the dragon to shut it. It wasn't fine, not by a long shot. The water was freezing, dead of winter was never a good time to go swimming, he gave a heave of his shoulders and plastered a winning smile on his face. He couldn't figure out why she was mad at him. She was the one who ran into him but if he was going to play a bit there was no sense in ruining it by snapping back.

"Do you want some help?" he offered with a smile, "Its the least I can do after getting wet with your buckets."

He was handsome, a fact that Nari had never taken notice of most men. Most men were rivals, or people she was selling to, not some man she was staring at, soaked in the cold water that also splashed back at her. It wasn't very effective. Or maybe super effective at making some of his muscles stand out. Okay, what was she doing? She was quick to change her tone, change the placement of her eyes up into his as she stared at him with anger speckling over her brow.

It was all her fault, she was well aware of that, but the best defense was an offense after all. "I bet you should." She huffed at him. She didn't need his help in the least, but if she was to follow this pattern than he should help. "I don't need the help, but since you were the cause of the loss of water I will take it." She said in a haughty tone. She pushed up the sleeves to her tunic and went back down for the water, her beautiful and tightly wound blonde braid falling across her shoulder.

There was a flutter of bronze wings and a cranky little squawking from within Nari's tunic as the newly hatched bronze pushed out and glared at him with angry little red faceted eyes.

Nari tried not to show the slight smirk that trailed her lips as he darted at K'ton's hair to pull at some. "Tanner." She hissed at the little beast. The little flit had dangling from him a leather strap with beads at his neck, and a tiny harness slipped about it, made quickly of hide scraps until he reached his adult size, it was quite plain, but had lovely stitch-work and some sort of insignia done in a bronze thread.

Tanner was once again at K'ton, very protective of his Nari it would seem, and still learning his manners.
