Spring, 19th Turn, 11th Pass
The Expedition of the previous season proved to be far less dangerous than possibly any before, with a handful of newly discovered species, and plenty of wealth in the way of resources. As the snow melts, the cold retreats, and bright green buds of Spring burst forth, Dalibor sets its sights on the future as Red Ingoth lays her first clutch upon the sands of the Hatching Ground and the Weyr prepares for another hatching full of possibilities.

Rivior, Wher Candidate
Member Inventory: View
Age Out Date:
Rivior is definitely a good definition of a prankster-loving playboy. Where trouble is found, he is not far behind. He loves life, fearing only death, and lives each day as though it could very well be his last--and who knows? It very well might! He is of the belief that if you aren't enjoying yourself, what is the point in it all? He loves wine, women, dancing, warm summer days, a good prank or joke, and being the center of attention. He is always very certain of himself, and that he can do anything short of flying without a dragon--and even then, he might find a way...or so he'll profess. A free spirited sort, he has little patience for things that are deemed boring or dull. Same with people--he doesn't much care for people who are moody or down all the time, unless it is to tease them and get a rise from them. He is quite happy to spend every night with a different person, with no care for things like reputation. He is a firm believer in minding one's own business and living and let live.
He thinks himself quite charming, dashing, handsome and clever. He has a lot of pride, and it may be his weak point, along with a temper that can get downright ugly if not kept under a tight reign. He often acts without thinking, something that can lead to a lot of trouble. He doesn't take insults well, and likes dragon poker a little too much--and hates losing. He is the kind of man to cheat, or lie, though he is generally harmless enough with it and doesn't necessarily mean anyone ill will. He has a good heart, but he's also quite selfish and materialistic. He likes fine things, fine clothes, pretty women, and is prone to envy and jealousy. If there's something he wants and someone else has it, he's not best pleased, needless to say. He can be quite pushy and controlling, and hates to have anyone look down on him or think him lesser in any regard. He is quick with his words, be it flattery or insults, and doesn't know when it's best to hold his tongue.
When it comes to relationships, Rivior isn't the most reliable. He's hardly good at team-work and he tends to watch out for his own hide first. He has his own idea of honor, and is bad at making promises because he doesn't often manage to keep the ones he makes. He has to truly care about someone to put them on equal grounds with himself, in which case he is far less of a selfish person than he would be were it someone he calls friend but doesn't truly care for. He is clever and likes thinking of schemes that will put him in the limelight and paint him as charming or heroic. Still, he is prone to being lazy and unhelpful and does better when taking care of things on his own rather than having other people to pick up his slack--of which there will be plenty, if he doesn't like what work there is to be done. In a relationship he is very possessive and jealous, and can act rashly if he suspects the object of his affections isn't as enamored with him and is spending what he considers 'too much time' with someone else. He hasn't matured enough in this regard to give a person the space needed. It might almost be said he's a little clingy, even though he tries to act the macho, stand-alone complex sort. When he truly likes someone, he hates to spend much time apart. He is also fearful of being betrayed--if he weren't, he would not be so easily made jealous.
Play-by: Colin O'Donoghue
At 6'1", Rivior isn't horribly tall, nor at all short. He is in fairly good shape, with what he considers to be decent musculature--abs and decent arm muscles. But he's hardly the kind to really bulk himself up, as that would require a lot more work than he's willing to put in. He's fortunate he is forever-moving and he at least forces himself to do his hourly daily training to keep the muscles he does have there--and probably for the best, as Rivior would whine and complain about the loss of them and the attention that comes with them! Blue green eyes are used to the maximum capacity in his flirtations, as well as the dark, semi-thick brows over them. He keeps his facial hair kept neat and not too long, just enough to have a stylized 'stache and beard in the manner he likes to wear it. His hair is thick and dark enough of a brown that it almost appears black in less lighting or when it's winter and not sunny out. He has quite an angular jawline and a nose that seems fitting for his face.
Rivior prides himself on his style of dress. Kohl, and a lot of black leather with crimson shirts are among his favorite things to wear. He also sports a couple of rings, and pendants on chains, as well as a piercing in his right ear. He likes black, very much so. Black leather vests and shirts left unbuttoned a third of the way down are common attire for him. He loves leather and wher hide boots, too, and long coats that reach down to mid-thigh or knees. In truth he dresses very well, but in his own style of such.
Riselyn (mother, greenrider, 51)
Xhynor (father, bronzerider, 53)
Xenalyn (half-sister, greenrider, 20)
Born at Bay Weyr to a greenrider and bronzerider through flightlust, Rivior was a weyrbrat raised primarily by the creche. His father was quite the mischievous individual when he was younger, so it was no surprise that Riv was, as well. He enjoyed nothing more than getting into and up to what he shouldn't. He hardly knew much of his half-sister, Xenalyn, born a few turns later to a different father. Life was decent at the Weyr. Young Riv had a temper even as a child, and a loose tongue and rebellious streak that saw him in trouble quite often. Still, by the time he was twelve he was being forced to keep that under wraps, since he wouldn't be able to be a candidate and a hot-head--at least not to the degree the child was--at the same time. Many times was he reprimanded and threatened with being withheld from Standing. He never was, as he knew to keep it just enough diluted to stay out of big trouble!
He was forever skipping lessons and poking his nose where he shouldn't before candidacy. He was always running with a gang of trouble-making weyrbrat boys who were well known for causing strife through pranks and mischief. His father had a few stern lectures for his boy, needless to say. Still, his father was lax, for a bronzerider, and felt 'boys would be boys'. So, while he wasn't doing his son any favors, he wasn't particularly harsh with Rivior. Doomfall didn't see him losing anyone he was close to, and while it had been terrifying in its own right, Rivior considered himself fortunate to have made it through, and thought little of it. It had happened. It didn't happen again. Somewhere, in the back of the young man's mind, it could still happen again. That isn't something he lets himself dwell on. There isn't any point, because there's no certain way to know if it will or won't.
Candidacy dragged on. He Stood time after time, got a few scars here or there for it--nothing serious, as he was light on his feet and eventually learned how to move the shells out of the way and pay attention!--and yet kept right on Standing, without seeming to really care if he Impressed or not. In truth, it was because he didn't know that it was what he wanted. Being a dragonrider sounded nice, in theory. Still, he hadn't ever come to any solid decisions on what he wanted from his own life. He was just living, one day at a time, making the most of it. Having fun, flirting, appreciating the fact that he was alive at all. He easily made friends and got on with people, even if he had a few issues with really letting them in. He always found those who really piqued his interest, though. His 'mates' he'd call them, and they would be inseparable for a time, until they went on to Impress, and he made new ones.
The young man had a 'care-or-less' attitude, so when he aged out, it didn't affect him in the way it might have someone else. He simply stated if he wasn't meant for a dragon, he'd try for whers. Being a candidate was easy. Being a candidate in the same place you'd been for along, long time...well, that bored the young man half out of his mind. As was wont to happen, he decided wanted to see more of the world, and grew bored of life at Bay. Hating monotony and hoping for a change in scenery and life in general--not to mention a chance to meet more women and men to have some fun with!--he asked for a transfer to Dalibor Weyr--randomly chosen out of a hat, unsurprisingly. He was hoping for a bigger Weyr, but ever one for a gamble, decided to stick with the random Weyr he'd drawn. Hopefully, there's some excitement in store for him there.
Transfer again, please.
